Martial Arts for All Ages

Taekwondo is a Korean Martial Art that was developed in the 1950’s and introduced into this country in the 1960’s. It is a modern and effective martial art that can be practised by people of all ages and abilities. The training at the club will cover all aspects of Taekwondo, and is carried out in a structured way to allow the students to fully enjoy all parts of the training. It is perfect for core strength.

For All Abilities

Whatever your abilities, you will find that your fitness will improve, your flexibility will increase, and one of the most important aspects is that you will learn to defend yourself – as you will learn effective self defence techniques. The aim of the training at the Birmingham club is to ensure that after each training session you feel that you have learnt something new and that you have enjoyed it!

Adult, Child and Family Classes

The classes are structured into child and adult classes. The children’s classes are for 5-11 year olds. The children will learn all aspects of Taekwondo. Various activities are also done to help children improve fitness, flexibility, hand-eye co-ordination, balance, memory and reflexes – all in a fun and interactive way in order for the children to both enjoy the lessons and to get the most out of it. Family groups are also welcome in the children classes if parents wish to train with their children.

Adult classes are similar to the children’s classes in that all aspects of Taekwondo are taught. Activities are also done to improve things like fitness, hand-eye co-ordination, balance, memory and reflexes, but are done at a more appropriate level for adults.

Whatever the reason why a student wants to take up Taekwondo – improve their fitness, learn a martial art, learn self defence, to take part in competitions or simply to do an activity in order to get out and socialise, the Birmingham Taekwondo Club will be able to address all of these.

Taekwondo has 5 tenets that it is built upon: COURTESY, PERSEVERANCE, SELF CONTROL, INTEGRITY and INDOMITABLE SPIRIT. At the Birmingham Club we aim to achieve all these throughout the training.
